Smart is abundant
Frontier AI models have made raw intelligence widely available. The ability to produce an answer is no longer a durable advantage by itself.
Heart is the moat
When many people can call on the same intelligence, empathy and taste become more valuable. Work that moves people has a reason to exist; generic output does not. Technology mirrors the consciousness of whoever builds it. That makes emotional and moral depth part of the technical brief rather than decoration added at the end.
Agency answers anxiety
A new generation is rewriting defaults around work, institutions and software. Owen's response is to help people build something real, because capability changes the emotional relationship with the future. Across his career, the recurring idea has been reality that responds to the observer: real-time pages, consensus systems, live websites and practical work that lets people author what comes next.
